I was in Los Angeles from Dec 25 onwards since I decided to work remotely anyways, and had friends to spend time with in LA. Our New Year's fun started at the car rental where we started with a full-size car booking, and ended up negotiating a convertible and a SUV. Who would have imagined that. Thanks to the people who did not return their cars on time. :)

We reached at about 10pm on New Year's eve, refreshed a little bit at the hotel, and took the BART to SF fisherman's warf where they had fireworks for the New Year. We reached our destination 2 minutes past 12, and we were all running to get a better spot to view the fireworks. The fireworks was not bad at all. My expectations were low so I did not regret the last minute run. We walked over to naan-n-curry for dinner. Yes! we had dinner at 1 am on New year's. The food was very decent. Lot better than Indian food in LA.

Jan 1 at SF was the most eventful. We started our day at Pier 39 with a satisfying brunch. We decided to take the boat ride that took us on a tour of the Golden Gate Bridge, and Alcatraz island. Though I have taken this ride already, and have had better view in the summer. Fun this time was very different because we were 10 people on the top deck of the ship doing all sorts of poses for the camera.

We then drove over to the mountain on the other side of Fort Baker/Golden Gate Vista point where Vaarnam Aaiyram was filmed. It was drizzling, cold, and foggy but we managed to click some decent pictures there. We then left to SF downtown, and walked a decent 5 miles that night going from car to dinner to ice skating, and back.

Jan 2 was a turn down most of the time. We missed a few exits, lost our way a little bit, denied entry at the Mystery Spot because it was fully booked, turned down again at the 17 mile drive because of bad weather. But the day was not bad at all. We had a wonderful time with the 7 seater SUV full of wonderful friends, loud music, lots of chatting, and all the time in the world.
